@busessuck1 Hesitation Blues was recorded several times before Jelly Roll Morton recorded it. Two versions were published in sheet music, One by Billy Smythe- Scott Middleton and Art Gillham (recorded by Art Gillham as one of the first five electrical recordings for Columbia on 2-25-1925. W.C. Handy also used the traditional tune and naming his version Hesitating Blues.

I just wanted all Hot Tuna fans to know that Hot Tuna will soon be visiting Long Island, on the waterfront at Shorefront Park in Patchogue.
They are performing July 15th 2011 along with over 35 other performers that weekend. There will be plenty of other rock, jam, folk, blues & “Americana” genres as well. Definitely check it out, there’s more information on the Great South Bay Music Festival website!!!

jim jackson was the first person to record a guitar version - though the reverend may have done it first, but he recorded a funny version in 60s for the hippies to enjoy and do covers of
