um not really. Peach still is a good character, just not as good as she was in melee. some really good peach players are NikoK, Mikey Lenetia, Peachkid, and D.Peach. I'd be one of them if i was more active on the internet and tournaments :). Most people just say that she sux because spamming downsmash and forward throw doesn't work anymore. when u come to realize what is good about her, u will utilize those things about her and win.

That's a match of me and mike playing for the first day in brawl :) I was so happy to watch it to see how much I improved, and how much peach changed from melee to brawl, she just can't be played that way anymore.

is her down smash still effective like in melee
and does she take out zombies and or items

No, her downsmash is nothing like melee's but it is still useful.
and yes, she still pulls out stitch faces and the same items she did in melee. I killed the sheik player with a stitch face.

Is her B + across move (the one that explodes) just as crappy as in Melee or did they improve it?
And what about her Toad move? Is that also just as crappy?
I always use Peach...but I rarely ever use those two moves because they just suck. Is there hope for Peach in Brawl?

Her forward be is more useful, yet you shouldn't use it too oftenly, unless it's an enemy that it works great on :)
Toad I'm not sure... I mean, you still have to predict your rival's move :)
