Most of the Transformations I make are entirely my own idea. However very occasionally I will copy others. Naturally I always seek permission if I decide to sell the puzzle.
Some years ago Katsuhiko Okamoto from Japan made a fully working Master Skewb. I do not know the mechanism he used but it is likely that he used CAD and a computer controlled milling machine to create it from solid lumps of ABS. I know that this is his preferred technique.
A few years later Andrew Cormier made one again using CAD and this time 3D printing. Andrew's was slightly different since he had one square and four rectangles per side whereas Katsuhiko had five identical squares.
