I just felt the need to pass this on. Railroads are by far the most economical & greenest way to move freight. 1 loaded rail car can carry 120-130 tons of freight where as 1 semi is only permitted by law to carry 22 tons. Think of the cost & emissions difference in 1 RR car to 6 semis. Also, the RR is required to pass yearly emission tests & buy 'locomotive hrs.' from the government to fund their so called footprint. Yes it is big business, but at the same time it's needed & economical.
