@lechan241 I think it's especially stupid to compare a sitcom to real life. And even if you want to: Frasier was for most of the time about him and his brother being snobbish and spending too much. The show was quite self-aware about it. There actually were episodes about Niles having to heavily cut down his expenses because of his divorce. So there you go.

@lechan241 Simple, his pension gets combined with the salary of a well paid radio broadcaster. Besides the show's point was to mock the snobbery of frasier and niles, hence their wealthy lifestyle. It'd be a pretty dull show if it was just martin huddled up in a small room next to a tiny fire eating a tin of cold beans.

this is stupid. how can a retired police officer afford six - dollar cans of dog food? it's not realistic. It DOES NOT represent how most senior citizens live. But this show was always about spending, opulence, greed, hedonism, never needing to budget, going to French restaurants every night, ordering Italian footwear, and having live-in domestics
