Actually this dance is based on Sufi twirling but it is not spiritual like that is, Sufi twirling is basically a form of Prayer, they believe god/love is in everything and everywhere... this is the Egyptians taking that and making it more colorful and entertaining, it's called Tannoura.

This is similar to a whirling dervish dance done by sufis. It's a form of Islam that is suppoded to be "mystical".
