A lot of people don't get a live wrestling show: to tell a story and make the audience think it is real, just like a magician does. Wrestling shows used to travel with the circus 100 years ago. The only reason it got huge was television. In the 50's HALF of all the people who watched tv, watched wrestling. And like a magic, it only works if you don't know how it is done. Without marks you have no show. They watched this match because they feared Blassie would kill Riki. That was a successful one
