This song was inspired by the famous rescue by Quilty fishermen of County Clare in 1907. They went out on a stormy night and rescued the crew of the Leon X111 which had hit rocks. One of the rescuers by the name of Boyle was later a sailor in the Merchant Navy during the World War One. His ship was torpoed in the Miditerranean Sea - He spent a week alone on a raft before he was rescued. This song was inspired by his experience.

  • @Pawlito Thanks for the comment Pawlito - I have fond memories of my time in your wonderful country.

  • Finally! After years of searching I have found your music in the internet. I like your music very badly since I heard you in the final folksongs festival concert in Lithuania a couple of years ago. That performance was amazing. A big respect for you and your songs.
