Fatal Working Fire At 2252 Fillmore, Gary Indiana

GFD Engine 4 was dispatched to a reported fire alarm from the house next door, while Engine 4 was en route to the call a full still was dispatched for a working fire with victims trapped. On arrival heavy fire and smoke was reported, while en route I was able to see the header and glow clearly from 80-94 and Broadway. Crews made an agressive attack from the front and rear. After searches were made a victim was found in the living room area. The fire appeared accidental and the coroner stated the victim was burned beyond recognition, they were awaiting dna results for identification. Crews remained on scene for over two hours working and investigating.
