Have you ever wondered how to spray your fruit tree? There is more to it than you think. This video is full of info you need to know to do it right and get the most out of your fruit tree.

Spraying your fruit trees is very important! What I recommend is a copper spray. Some of you may have, well there's also a sulfur lime. Sulfur is actually being phased out by the FDA.

You' ll never want to spray on an apricot with Sulfur. Copper you can spray on everything. Copper spray should be applied often to prevent pests and blights. I choose a day where there's not a lot a wind. I choose a day when its not going to be raining to for a day or two or three and I get a really good uniform application. Generally speaking a tea spoon or two per gallon this stuff goes a long ways. Copper spray is a great product to have on your shelf. This is not fertilizer. Copper spray is used to control bacteria and its organic, they use this on the organic farms too.
Hopefully the leaves have dropped you don't want to spray the tree until the leaves have gone bye bye and the tree is asleep. I tell people by the time February rolls around, force it into sleep. Prune it back pull those leaves off or spray them anyways. I would force them to sleep now and go ahead and after pruning you don't want to spray anything you'll be cutting off.

After Citrus is a different animal then these fruit trees. Citrus. We do a citrus workshop closer to the spring and in the summer. One thing about citrus, never prune citrus in the winter months because of the frost danger. Now is not a good time to prune and really you should only prune the citrus if you only have too. If Citrus is blocking a window that brings sun light into your bedroom or if its in the way of getting around the side of your house, that's the only time I would prune it. Generally speaking you do not want to prune citrus and in the case of disease, pest -that's what where here for. Bring in a sample, bring in some leaves.
