  • Thank you for repling back mrhumbleboldhippy. Just another question. Will the leaf be clean enough to eat? as insects must have touched them or if there is any tiny insects in the leaf, we would be eating them lol. I know that sounds silly but I just want to be safe :). I want to aslo use stinging nettle to make a Shampoo rinse, I read it is very good to get glossy/shiny hair.

  • @moila04 wow,im trying to answer you i dint know your online, hello.i actually eat bug eggs and bugs on leafs, but you can see them, also i pick small really green leaves,no holes ,discolorations,if there is any chance that the plants could have been sprayed with poison, this is a enemy of the usa.it would only be poisoned never watered or pesticides, only bad stuff.mine grow naturally in my yard away from all sprays ect.you may be able to telljust by the fact of if its there it may not be sprayed,

  • @moila04 this is a truly green plant.if it is yellow or disclored, that is bad,if it is brown thats bad.you want to see a fully green leaves, growing up to 6 ft happy plant,if thats not it dont use it.get some seeds and grow your own, even off of any plant.thats cool your going to make soap, thats so cool.shampoo i mean, yea.you know you can also juice with it,and make teas.i think it will make good clothes also,ya know it is hemp?peace

  • Great video. About 15 mins from my home, there is some greenspace & nature reserve, lots of stinging nettle grows there. I want to pick some but im worried about a few things. Can you answer my questions :)

    1. If you eat stinging nettle, wouldn't it sting in your mouth?

    2. Is it safe to eat? what if insects, animals have released chemicals on them.

  • @moila04 after folding your picked stinging nettle, witch i fold on the plant then pick, also when pulling or picking any slight touch anywere will burn,ha,sorry.reall this is gods medicine nd not harmfull,it stings but then your body is getting powerfull medicines.not poisonous.just stings.lots of people actually enjoy it.also it is real medicinal practice called urtification.the art of stinging netles.so ,press frmly, roll,to crush stingers, and or put in mouth and chew.i usually will press it,

  • @moila04 it is possible that having more saliva in your mouth may stop stinging effects.but serioulsy if your only concerned about geting stung then ,yes, break up the leaf,if eting raw.press it or crush it,that will break up leaf stingers.if cooking it will not sting you.the seeds and all parts of this plant have stingers,if you want more identifcation i hav many videos, see my greenhouse,as for bugs, they taste great with wild mustard,so you will see if there is some ofensive thing on the leaf.

  • @mrhumboldthippy hehe lol yep im online right now, i realised you were too. I hope the leaves I pick have not been sprayed with anything, I agree that chemicals are the most harmful things that can go inside your body rather then insects. I will watch your other vidoes. By the way I sent you a personal message with a more detailed reply, please read :)

  • @moila04 hello, first, yes eating raw untouched ,fresh picked will sting your mouth.how ever, there is a way to eat them raw.2.they melt in hot water, the needles are silica that melts in soup, and they taste great, easily replaces spinach, broccli.so in my other videos on stinging nettles i show i think how to pick them.anyway so most the stingers are on top.grap with bth sides 2 fingers, from bottom sides edges, fold like a taco.now with practice you may be able to fold and press firmly ,see 2 answer

  • yea stinging nettles are good food.i eat them every day from my naturally grown plants in my greenhouse in humboldt california.eating them raw gives an imediate sense of energy.ten leaves is a meal if hungry.the seeds are exelent.taste like butter.they have so much oil.all protein super food of the gods.urtification, being pricked by the needle thorns of stinging nettles, releases powerfull stimulats into your body.there are many folk medicine uses with stinging nettles, including cerimonial use.
