This is a awesome game

I played this game on PS3, I'm very disappointed at this as the game is very difficult when you play by yourself plus you can't upgrade your gear while any given time & can only do so when you go to those points where you open the book to do so. There is no tutorial on how to do things in the game & getting to places is very hard when you're on your own.
Symphony of the Night on PSP is still much better than this. Its not worth even spending my money on this

This game is addicting as all hell, its not just for hardcore fans. If you ever liked any castlevania game at all, get it.As far as this review goes, IGN wouldnt know a good game if it sat on their face and farted.

What they should have done is change the multiplayer layout of the maps to where it forces people to help each other to even get to the boss. Only problem with that is noobs, although there is a mic compatablitiy function so players can talk. If you have friends that have it, buy it. If you dont have friends that have it,outcast them, buy it and make new ones :P

Let me just say this about harmony of despair. If you could level up i would never play another game again. So yes its worth the $14.99 price tag (for U.S. players) Not only that, it has loads of downloadable content such as new characters and even new chapters. The only bad thing i can think of that i dont like is the fact that when you start and go online people just go right to the boss and beat it for you. Some people might like that, i however do not.

last but not least, if you're a castlevania fan, definitely get it!! if not, don't even bother.

it's definitely worth its price of admission. don't go at it alone, you'll get really confused. get a few more of your castlevania buddies and go at it together. you'll enjoy and appreciate its complexities, its beauty, and its charisma.

@Aadrianseth Do you recommend the game?

PSN version is much more worth it. Supports local multiplayer, and has more content right off the bat. Includes two more characters, Julius Belmont, and Yoko Belnades. It also includes the 7th level, which was originally DLC. If you have people you can play this with, and/or love Castlevania, go for it. Mastering the levels is fun. I was skeptical at first, but give it time and you will love it. The game is deep...just try to fighter Brauner or Dracula on Hard...it's not so easy.

LOL IGN and their face value reviews. Any real fan of Castlevania would get hooked to this. The multiplayer isnt insane, but as an RPG? Looting, collecting, the challenge of building up your stats without an actual EXP system, and fighting steroid injected counterparts of classic bosses? Deep as hell.
Also, its kinda beyond me who would try and jump on this as their first Castlevania game. This is definitely intended for fans...people who recognize at least 1/2 of the characters.
