I just read her brief bio and man her life is a drama. she definitely didnt live a easy life that's for sure. Believe or not this is her first musical ever and she's never even heard of musical before she got an audition for this one.

@yemack No she is not the girl in your link. She is another Effie in Korean production. Cha jiyeon is very up and coming promising as well in Korean musical world, I think :)

I've already watch this video 10 times. I showed to a co-worker and she was blown away too. Language really has nothing to do with how well something is performed. I don't understand one lick of Korean but I still fill the power of this song. These women are awesome. I started looking up clips from Rent and ended up here. Oh.....btw check out some of the clips from the Korean version of Rent. Excellent as well. Take care.

it really exemplifies how music can overcome the barriers of languages, and express the same emotions..

The actress who was Effie, said in an interview that she was so discouraged and frustrated with herself because people kept comparing her to Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, and Jennifer Holiday..But when Henrey Krieger saw her perform who told her that she was the most loving Effie ever..This really inspired her and she never got intimidated and frustrated in rehearsals after that encouragement..

@SpazChat nothing can defeat the original. i think, and i'm a Korean ; ) but this version is very good too. and jung sun ah is my favorite korean musical actress.
