They have a new ride that has a base that looks like this and is taller. Only difference is the cabs look different and you can't control the movement of your cab. The cabs don't move around either. It's called Wind Seeker
I hated this ride when they had it at KD where DT is now, ours was known as sky pilot.
From what I've heard the victim in the accident wasn't even restrained when the ride started as she was sitting on top of,rather than secured under the OTSR & lapbar otherwise she wouldn't have fallen out.
Close.... I have the newspaper clippings of the event and also of the ruling after the event. Plus I was at the part 5 days after this happened. The ride was still closed pending the investigation. First, the ride was, in fact, declared after an investigation, so, if there is one positive to the tragedy, that part of the story would be it.
Candy Taylor was the victim. Yes, she did fall through the restraints on the ride but not into any water. Rather, she fall to the concrete slab.
i read a book about haunted places in the cincinnati area and it had ki in there and it said that a lady dropped something into an electrified pool and got electrecuted to death and then it says a worker saw her and went in to save her and got electricuted to death as well. and the lady on this ride saw ambulances rushing to the pool and she was struggling in her seat to get a better look and fell out and died, and if that is true, then 3 people died at ki on the same day.
from everything Ive seen on KI-related forums, she was super skinny and the restraints didnt hold her very well. Apparently she was pretty intoxicated too and there was nobody in the seat next to her. She boarded at approximately 9:45 pm, its pretty dark out, she's not too secure in the restraints anyway and from what I understand, passed out while flipping her pod upside down, sliding into the empty seat next to her and then to the ground.
i understand a woman died on this ride. with all due respect, how do you fall out of this ride? it looks like there are shoulder harnesses and harnesses between the legs over the lap... did hers not work?
@haylie1112 That was too separate incidents, but they both did indeed happen on the same day, and within like an hour of each other.

I loved this ride when I was 6!!!! After the lady died on it, I rode it after they opened it back up, I just didn't want to flip upside down in it...

There were two other people who died that day. A man fell into a lake and another man jumped in to save him. Both were electrocuted in the lake.
