Jim Dowd scores on a rebound past Mike Vernon while Paul Coffey lay injured nearby, giving the Devils a 3-2 lead in Game 2 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals. Stephane Richer would add an empty net goal to make the final, 4-2, giving the Devils a 2-0 series lead, going back to New Jersey

  • Jim Dowd is my friend's cousin he was amazing

  • Probably got the wind knocked out of him. Takes a good minute or so to recover from.

  • red wings shouldnt have been complaining that coffey was hurt to stop play. he wasn't seriously hurt and he should have just tried to drag his body to the bench.

    he's the anti daryl sydor.

  • And Coffey came back and played. No issues here.

  • Jim Dowd is my Aunt's 2nd cousin! he is so kool!

  • GO BRICK! Been in Brick since Brick was Bricktownship, and Bricktown, and then Brick... Whenever someone is from Jersey and proud of being in Jersey, they always seem to be Brick :P

  • 2:31 - Gary... Brick, NJ is nowhere near the meadowlands... it's about 45 mins - an hour away

  • paul coffey allowed a goal against the avs to in game 1 1996 wcf but this time he scored in his own goal

  • I've seen players do amazing things while near crippled on the ice. I forget what player it was, but late in the playoffs, some player took a nasty shot to the leg and crawled towards the crease and just lay there.

  • Yeah, really. I dog Thorne, but that was a fine call.
