Starting up a 3 week old windturbine from Enercon by letting it automatically rotate the head into the wind and pitching the blades so they can catch the wind.
The turbine is located near Echteld, The Netherlands. Clearly visible from the A15 highway, between Tiel and Doodewaard.
An Enercon E82 is 78 meter high at this point and the rotor has a diameter of 82 meters.
There are four of these turbines in line here. The total power is 8 megawatt. Annual energy production should be 18 million KWh, which equals the need of 5400 Dutch housekeepings.

  • @Rotpig then power is drawn from elsewhere on the grid, if the wind stopped everywhere at once i think lack of electricity would be the least of our concerns.

  • roughly estimate the space between these machine

  • wind stops, if only world ends

  • Until the wind stops blowing, they are fine. Then what?

  • that is so massive!

  • i love this song of the excitation
