  • Sorry, to say, but this comment is just silly.

The name Salieri makes people say some damn weird stuff from time to time. And this applies both to those who like to insult him in any way possible as much as to those who like to praise him but go couple of steps too far in their adoration.

  • why does mozart always have to come up when we listen to a piece by Salieri? Damned hollywood...but then again, the movie did bring to lots of people's attention that salieri actually existed

  • @lidiabonini That's not true - Salieri himself conducted Mozart's sy 40 after M death and M operas were popular all over Europe in the 19th Century. Beethoven played 2 of M concertos (no 20,24 - declaring that no 24 was unsurpassable) There was a brief lull in popularity caused by interest in the romantic composers but since the 30s M greatness has not been in question and interest today is as strong as ever and growing.

  • The emphasis on the timpani was unexpected. Cool to hear that in such an early piece.

  • @orphan567, dear! Damned Pushkin's "Little Tragedies" (and damned Hollywood, of course!) The matter is not only attention that "Salieri actually existed" but that he actually exists nowadays as genius innocently blamed

  • @Thrax1982 why have you compare this musican? I inform you that "amadeus" is a fantasy film, why don't you compare for example mozart and bach, or beehoven and litzs? (for japaneseweet)

  • @orphan567 It was Mozart l'Opéra Rock that introduced me to Salieri. His music is truly incredible, isn't it? I wish some modern composers would take a leaf out of his book. Not all, but.. A fair few.

  • incorrect

  • @japanesesweet i think you watch too much hollywood movies and know too little about harmony, melody.

  • "Mozaaaart!...Mozaaaart! Forgive Me Mozart!"

  • Wow, stupid ending.

  • it's something which i feel as a gut reaction as much as something which can be 'justified'...however,

a few points which for me stand out in Allegro KV 9a (for piano) by Mozart (1763):

1.)bar 13 left hand goes to e flat. very sursprising touch.

2.)bar 30 the recapitulation takes an unexpected twist with the bflat

3.)non symetrical phrase structure . first section is 8+3+3+4

4.)avoidance of too much root position harmony, gives the piece a lovely buoyant feel.
