    Contrary to what conspiracy theorists would have us believe, "Cool, Clear Water" was actually about a guy and his horse (Dan) traversing the desert, longing for water. When the song was written, cowboys wrote about what they knew, and they put it in simple, straight-forward terms; no hidden or double meanings. Don't over analyze or impose hidden meanings that simply are not there. The Sons of the Pioneers wrote and sang songs about the West and the day-to-day life of a cowboy.

    As a kid in the 1940's, I was lucky to have a Dad that took me to every Roy Rogers movie that came out, and we got to hear the Sons do their music. We had this record at home too, I've loved it ever since.

    Written by Bob Nolan originally as a poem when he was about 16 or so yrs old....He was the founder of the Sons of the Pioneers and he sings this version....You could never forget the voice of Bob Nolan.....
