The sources that this video is citing (like the Lewin group and the "council for affordable health insurance") are right wing think tanks and not legitamate sources.

Squeezed enough by the insurance companies, who are now facilitating the spending of millions on an ad campaign to protect their fortunes, and deny millions of decent folk and their children access to basic health. It's time that governments enabled people stand on their own two feet - by not having insurance companies chop them off at the knees

If you think that these people are telling the truth, you need to check further. The Health industry is spending lots of money to stay in business selling you misinformaiton.

Conservatives for Patients Rights is run by Rick Scott, the former head of Columbia/HCA, a for-profit hospital chain. Mr. Scott was forced out of that job amid a fraud investigation; the company eventually pleaded guilty to charges of overbilling state and federal health plans, paying $1.7 billion — yes, thats billion — in fines. You cant make this stuff up.

The government meets 45% of all health care costs already, 36% is met by insurers and the rest is out of pocket.

But 80% of all health care costs are incurred in the last 2 years of life when most people are on Medicare.

That means Medicare is doing a great job. But where the **** does the private insurance money go?

Go figure....

I tell u where it goes. $20 million bonus salary for CEO of Health ins. Co., billions in annual profits for these companies....

If C4Patientsrights (Rick Scott) is SO CONCERNED with ACTUAL patients rights, how come we NEVER...NEVER heard their mouths UNTIL now- when our nation is trying to reform health care?

Rick Scott, the FAGGOT that was in charge of Columbia HCA, pleaded GUILTY and fined $1.7 billion for DEFRAUDING MEDICARE. Its like trusting Bernie Madoff with ur money !

@hausk, This is a good analysis.

The reasons behind this commercials are interesting...

Richard Scott, the founder of the organization behind these commercials has plenty health care experience in the US; the dirty kind of experience I might add.

He was CEO of HCA. In 2000, HCA (which by then had expunged Columbia from its name) pleaded guilty to no fewer than 14 felonies. Over the next two years, it would pay a total of $1.7 billion in criminal and civil fines.
