The video was part of a performative installation in the frame of the 'wall2wall 2008' performance by teaterKUNST (DK) at Metropolis LAB Copenhagen 2008. The project reflected the exclusion of artists from art institutions in Denmark (and elsewhere) and was questioning: 'how can i get into the (danish) art system?' ('and do i really want to go there?').
'kunstnere må være sexet' obviously referes to Marina Abramovic's work 'art must be beautiful' from 1975 and is inspired by the Danish habit to mark a private area in public parks by putting Danish flags around a group of people. A habit that ist quite strange to a German...
