To clear some things up, Oyama taught some groundfighting and even included it in some of his books. Mostly of the Judo variety with striking added in. By all accounts he was a very fierce fighter and not a guy to mess with. Oyama would most likely have loved the UFC. He was a big proponent of hard sparring and competition. He also put a lot of emphasis on conditioning and rigorous training. I think he would've loves the challenge.

@MadnessJuan Yeah right 52 bulls and not a single video, nor even a photo. This is just a myth.

@luvsbigboobs Too bad there is not a single piece of evidence regarding your claims.

@atious, Mas Oyama fought 100 men a day, 3 days in a row. Later he upped it to 300 men. He never lost a fight. All those men were trying to hit him. But you are also correct, because in their minds, they were trying not to get hit by Mas Oyama, the most powerful striker to set foot in Japan in a hundred years. this fear if getting hit, is why they lose. as Mas states in his movie bio, he feared losing. He feared becoming a cripple. but never did he fear getting hit. That is why he always won.

it didn't really look like they were trying to hit him

He has all my respect. He had founded a martial art style that I dare say produces one of the toughest martial artists in the world. please don't compare him to ufc fighters. He fought with many great martial artist all around the world, champions in their styles, including wrestlers and judo practitioners, and beat them all. Truly a master who pushed himself way over the human body's limit.
If Mas Oyama hit me, my name would be changed: First name "Dead", and my last name "Man"
