  • Also hey, couldn't you do some demos with a standard tuned guitar with regular non-active pickups? Everything does tend to be a bit nasal and grindy with your specific guitar, and only gives a very narrow idea of the width of the tones avaliable

  • @fretdance I only use Active Pickups, and I never play in standard tuning. You are correct that I am only showing a few tones that can be had. Be sure to look at other videos from others that use Eleven or the Eleven Rack for a more complete picture.

  • could not hear any difference in the dry comparison. the tracks are clipping by the way so there might be some stuff lost in that rectification

  • @alpiel91 No, there is no clipping in the tracks, in either Pro Tools or the video editor I used. If you see clipping then it must be on Youtube's end or your end. There is no clipping in the recorded tracks, I still have the session and can confirm no clipping.

  • listenign through all the clips it's next to impossible to hear the difference. However, identifying some "in-out" points and then switching between the exact same parts of the recordings the difference is clear. The 11R has a much more "mid-oriented" tone, making it sound slightly less"fizzy" and more "organic" for lack of a better word. I'd go fo the 11R in a mix...

  • listening with really good headphones...i couldn't really hear a difference.

  • Well, that one was easy 11R totally for the win!

But I really must comment on the 3rd example man that was totally groovin, that was badass. And besides that how low can you go :) Now you are in 8 string territory.
