Epic 5k. Foster vs. Jipcho. I didn't realize Jipcho won this race with tactical acumen over the last 100m. At 13:05, Foster is in lane 2 looking like he might get to or past Jipcho..as Lydiard said during his race commentary...see NZFilm. From 13:05 to 13:10 Jipcho holds the outside of the lane, forcing Foster to remain inside. Foster defeats himself at 13:11 by moving into lane 1 where the soon-to-be lapped runner prevents him from challenging Jipcho on the dip, which was surely possible.

Great memories! Anyone remember a New Zealand weightlifter called Graham May who fell forward and put the weight clean through the judges' table? It happened at the 1974 CW games I think.
