Tenacious D - Tribute (Karaoke - INSTRUMENTAL + LYRICS)

UPDATE:

I am perfectly aware that you can hear the vocals faintly over this track. Like I said before. The purpose of this video was to be used with karaoke - for real. If someone is singing along to this, you cannot hear Jack Black unless they sing faintly.

If you were looking to rip this YouTube video to MP3 in order to have an instrumental of this song, you're out of luck. I'm sorry, but this was the best I could do to eliminate the lyrics without compromising the instrumental too much.

Removing the lyrics from songs isn't very complicated, but it is very touchy. The process involves removing the channel on which the lyrics reside, leaving only the left and right channels. This means that songs without the lyrics in the center channel are less likely to be able to remove the lyrics from. In the case of this song, the lyrics ARE on the center channel, but their reverb is not. Thus, you still hear some whimpers of JB singing.

Thus, if you feel like you could do a better job, feel free to do so. In fact, feel free to use my video with your audio. I won't mind. Otherwise, stop complaining; there is no studio instrumental available for this track to my knowledge, and this video's purpose was not to supply anyone with a complete instrumental. It was made for people to sing over and become the dominant vocalist over Jack's echo.

I made this on Audacity. You can hear the vocals very faintly, but for the most part this is an instrumental. Since this hasn't been done for YouTube, I thought I would post it for everyone. @P0RtalMan If you sing over it, you can't hear them at all. Clearly, that is what this was intended for. Anyway, if you can get the lyrics out of this song more efficiently than me, give it a go. I'll upvote the hell out of your video.

This still beats singing over a shitty MIDI rendition of the song with no lyrics. Or a video that says "Karaoke" but is actually the studio version with lyrics superimposed over it.

It really depends on the song. It only works properly if the main vocals are as close to the middle channel as possible, as this trick leaves the far right and left channels while eliminating what is directly in the center.
