@311fob I believe it was because he did not have the TV appearance (dance, looks, etc. the producers wanted. He was one of the best singers that season!

Fell in love with Ricky the minute i heard him sing this song. He was just amazing. So much better then most ...surely better than Danny or Michael and ever Lil ...The judges definitely got this all wrong! :-(

FAR superior than any other version (sorry, Elliot). Pure PERFECTION. There was obviously something else going on when he was eliminated...on this song alone he should have SAILED into the finals. I ceased watching the show for the remainder of the season beCUZ he was eliminated. Definitely some bullsh*t going on. A terrible shame someone (RANDY JACKSON) didn't think enuf to put RB in the studio to record this song. Even released as just a single, there's no doubt it would have done well.

This guy is far superior to Danny Gokey .I think he did not fit the " type" American Idol wanted and also he did not get a lot of backstory air time which really is ( by calculated design ) what makes a contestant click with the audience . I hope he can try our for the Voice where the show ( hopefully) is more about the voice rather than fitting a type of having a sad story. He really is very , very talented .

I am still angry about how he got the shaft that season. He was clearly one of the best singers of the season and deserved to make it into the top 13. So many people deserved to go further but didn't because the producers were trying to pimp their favorites.
