Elvis Presley Stranger in the Crowd 7-15-70 Rehearsal
Written by Winfield Scott for Elvis. This is a rehearsal on 7/15/70 for Elviss Las Vegas tour in 1970, which was featured in the Thats The Way It Is Documentary. This version was of the song was not in the documentary. It is available on Stagger Lee: Thats The Way It Is 7-15-70 Rehearsal.

I was standing on the corner
At a quarter after seven
I was down to my last piece of ass
And the clock in the window
At a quarter to eleven

I was watching all the people
Walking by me going places
Just the loneliest guy in the crowd
Looking for a friendly smile
But all that I could see were faces

But then, just like the taste of milk and honey
I found the stranger I'd been looking for
Deep inside, my cup of love was overflowing
I knew the stranger in the crowd
And I would be strangers no more

Love had found us on that corner
At a quarter to eleven
I thought you were to good to be true
All my life I had believed
That angels only lived in heaven
But now, just like the taste of milk and honey
Ive found the stranger Id been looking for

Deep inside, My cup of love is overflowing
I knew the stranger in the crowd
And I would be strangers no more

Play it

Deep inside, my cup of love was overflowing
I found the stranger I'd been looking for
Deep inside, my cup of love was overflowing, oh
Because the stranger in the crowd
And I would be strangers no more

La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la

Id been standing on the corner
Since a quarter after seven
I was down to my last cigarette
And the clock in the window
At a quarter to eleven

I was watching all the people
Passing by me going places
Just the loneliest guy in the town
Looking for a friendly smile
But all that I could see were faces

But then, just like the taste of milk and honey, yeah
I found the stranger I'd been looking for
The way my cup of love was overflowing
I knew the stranger in the crowd
And I would be strangers no more

Love had found us on that corner
At a quarter after seven
I thought you were to good to be true
All my life I had believed
That angels only lived in heaven
But then, just like the taste of milk and honey
I found the stranger Ive been looking for

Deep inside, My cup of love is overflowing
I knew the stranger in the crowd
And I would be strangers no more

Play it dirty James
La la la la la la la la

Deep inside, My cup of love is overflowing
I found the stranger Id been looking for
My cup of love was over flowing

I knew the stranger in the crowd
And I would be strangers no more

La la la la la la la la
oh
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
Oh
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
Yeah

  • His humility and humor made him untouchable! Long live the ONLY king. ELVIS LIVES!

  • @ElvisSacramento Correct. The music industry owes Elvis a lot. So does Las Vegas. There should be an Elvis Presley award when Grammies are given. The man deserves it. Let's make it happen.

  • @NicolePresley in fact those around Elvis said he was always a fun guy to be around he was always making jokes even when badly sick! Nothing easily got him until that dr Nick started treating him then started to spiral into depression in other words Nick killed Elvis or was used by the brotherhood to kill him!

  • @molliech, lots of us would be... oh, dear...
