my english springer used to love playing and burying her head in the snow too... but each winter she would get an ear infection... the vet said it had to do with bacteria in the snow getting in her ears... do your spaniels get ear infections too?

@damnyoustamos Yes, it was exactly like that, we took her to me mountain and she was confused at first, but in a few minutes she was loving it.

If she liked the outdoors before, she ought to be fine. Most dogs I've known have been confused by snow at first, but grow to love it quickly. And springers especially are bred to love the outdoors, since they're a hunting breed.
