John wants to provide leadership in assisting Fire and Rescue Departments in finding effective funding sources from municipal financing, fundraising campaigns, and corporate donations. The Public Safety Problems:

1. Aging municipal infrastructure in critical need of repair and/or replacement, or new equipment is needed immediately.
2. Increasing costs for materials and labor.
3. Increasing health care costs for employees.
4. Reduce tax revenues due to trickle and ripple effects from sub-prime mortgage meltdown.
5. Investments under-performing.
6. Property tax increases are not feasible in economic climate.
7. Bond issue referendum doesn't have a chance of passing without Republican support.
8. Federal, state and county revenue sharing and grants diminishing.
9. Limited staff, time, and other resources to research and prepare grant and/or revenue sharing documentation.
