No wonder nobody gets good results. This guy has no clue as to how to cook Basmati. For one thing the rice needs a lot of pre-washing or it tastes like crap. This rice has to taste terrible with all the dirt and talc and odd flavors that are all over unwashed basmati.

Yes, this is good with a rice cooker. Pure and simple.

I got this machine today, so first time user, I have never had a positive experience cooking Basmati rice, and I almost came close to having a disaster today ( I hardly cook) so I didn't know water should go on top using this machine, I only put it on the bottom the way one does with veggies, seeing your video and an hour after cooking with just steam, I added water and it still came out perfect.. it really is fool proof.. thanks so much..

I've never had good luck with basmati. I've given up and just use medium grain.
