Only counting right marks presents a simple static view of the test. Scoring knowledge and judgment makes use of all the dynamic information available in a multiple-choice test.

  • The principles are the same. Most classroom tests only have three functional answer options, on average, even though they may have four or five answer options listed. Most students can eliminate one or two options unless they have been trained to only look for a right answer.
