from Tibet. com/whitepaper/white5.html (remove space)
Over 1.2 million Tibetans have died as a direct result of the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet. Today, it is hard to come across a Tibetan family that has not had at least one member imprisoned or killed by the Chinese regime. According to Jigme Ngabo, "after the suppressions of 1959 and 1969, almost every family in Tibet has been affected in some way".
Tibet. com/whitepaper has lots of good information
The problem facing ethnic Tibetans is not knowing Chinese. Because state owned enterprises control everything (including the lowliest jobs), Tibetans suffer an unemployment rate of 35%.
The main reason Tibetans send their kids out is because PRC bans religious education for anyone under 18. The second reason for not wanting to study Tibetan at uni level is because it is state controlled (full of offensive propaganda against Buddhism).
Statistics comes from the govt of Tibet in Exile. Tibetans pay extra to learn to read and write in Tibetan, Chinese is taught in school. The quote is from an official who interviews refugees (with tales of torture, abuse, and other such "western nonsense.") This doc allows Tibetans to speak for themselves. Please don't pretend to care about Tibet, when you've never been. I highly suggest you get off your ass and go, and while there, please sign on to your youtube account and send us an email.
I've been there. Outside Lhasa, people everywhere speak Tibetan which I don't speak. If you're so dumb as to think the people owning the shops (and speaking Chinese) in Lhasa are Tibetan, then your trip is wasted.
You haven't countered my points. For instance my point that Tibetan is still taught.
I'm not going to take sides with your TGIE anymore than with PRC. Tales...

We're talking about literacy my friend. Which obviously by your posts you have yet to grasp. speaking Tibetan is not learning to read and write it. Most of China is illiterate if you weren't aware, or ask any cabbie in Shanghai to write his name. People can speak a language and not be literate in it - like you with English. Tibetans are unemployed because their Han overseers won't hire them. Every Han I interviewed said he hated Tibet, Tibetans, their food and culture and can't wait to leave.
Tibetan is taught in China to University level. IF YOU PAY FOR IT. The problem for Tibetans is... PROBLEM IS THE HAN HATE TIBET, THEIR FOOD AND CULTURE. I INTERVIEWED TEN BUSINESSMEN WHO SAID THE SAME THING. THEY CAN'T WAIT TO GO HOME. The main reason Tibetans send their kids out.. IMAGINE SENDING YOUR KID AWAY FOR LIFE. FOR WHAT? FOR FREEDOM MY FRIEND. IT'S THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. WILLING TO GIVE UP THEIR FAMILIES SO THEY CAN LEARN TIBETAN CULTURE. YOU COULD NEVER MAKE THE SAME SACRIFICE.
Hello my so called 'christian'; let me guess, you're another pro-CCP? Let me guess further; you're not exactly very intelligent since it's well known that pro-CCP are here on YouTube also. With insulting the Tibetans and their Spiritual Leader and spreading CCP propaganda. Oh...if CCP opens up Tibet for everyone to wander freely without feeling the breath of an approved CCP guide I think many will continue their struggle for justice on Tibetan land.

Fools who support the communist party don't know much about China.
The World will be FREE from the evil communist party cult.
