  • Lovely idea for a wedding, especially if you are an aviation enthusiast. However, I am intrigued to know who took the video. Was it the official wedding videographer or a guest with a small camcorder? The wind noise and the movement of the trees indicate that it was obviously quite windy. Whenever I video airshows etc., I always use manual focus, thus eliminating "hunting". Thanks for posting the video. Please see my video response featuring Ferocious Frankie at Rochester (7.7.2007).

  • it was my Uncle who filmed the video

  • Ferocious Frankie was flown in WW2 by my uncle, Wallace Hopkins, originally from Washington, GA. He lived his adult life in Texas. His wife's name was Frankie, the plane's namesake.

  • when did he die?

  • I will have to check to get the exact date. My dad was a B-17 Pilot and Dad died in 1993. Uncle Wallace died a few years before as I recall. He had some type of throat cancer. I will get the exact date if you like.

  • Can I be really cheeky and ask which squadron your father was with as well???

  • ..that opening pass is something........if that don't get you blood flowing!

  • Well done your uncle!

  • ahhhhh, I'm addicted to the sounds of the Mustang's engines( A-D) such a lovely sound to draw to. =)

  • how did you go about hiring the mustang for your wedding i would like a spitfire for my mums 60th

  • 8th Air Force, 305th Bomb Group, 366th Squad. He (somehow) flew all 25 missions over Nazi Germany. Shot at every time but his B-17G made it back 25 times. As you know, that is almost unheard of...and his missions were PRIOR to fighter escorts....most of them, anyway. The P51 did not have the fuel capacity to go over there and back initially.
