They could have made Thatcher pay for her own funeral. Then the 10 million saved could be used to have the embassies produce passports again. Chile embassy no help whatsoever. Close embassies now as they do norhing for the overseas Briton.

And of the huge numbers of BNO holders overseas. You know those people who stayed loyal to the UK through good times and bad. Sending their sons to fight in British wars. What of those in Hong Kong? Those who didn't have a spare 250,000 pounds to spare in 1997 to buy full British nationality? How much money and time do you suppose your new system will now impose on these people? There was a distinct absence of democracy or democratic debate in this matter. Long Live Queen Thatcher!

The new 'service' is a continued assault on British people wherever they live. They are not introducing anything other than anxiety about the whereabouts of personal documents. This system saves Government time and money but passes on to the people additional costs. The British Government is merely reverting to type. With the gradual cutting of free education and other such policies it is attempting to reengineer to country back to a point before World War II. Know your place!

The passport service is a joke - i was born and raised in london, still live their, father irish and mother french, yet the application procedure is something you'd expect a Saudi Arabian to go through.

When you have the opportunity to travel to such wonderful Country, I will have the opportunity to meet these new changes in the passport. I wish for people to be an encouragement and a reason to approach more effectively to the UK.
