GERMAN (original)
Ach bleib bei uns, Herr Jesu Christ,
Weil es nun Abend worden ist,
Dein göttlich Wort, das helle Licht,
Laß ja bei uns auslöschen nicht.
In dieser letzt'n betrübten Zeit
Verleih uns, Herr, Beständigkeit,
Dass wir dein Wort und Sakrament
Rein b'halten bis an unser End.

DUTCH (translation)
Och, blijf bij ons, Heer Jezus Christus,
Omdat het nu avond is geworden.
Uw goddelijk woord, het heldere licht,
Laat het bij ons niet uitdoven.
Verleen ons, Heer, bestendigheid
In deze laatste, droeve tijd;
Dat wij uw Woord en Sacrament
Zuiver behouden tot aan ons einde.

ENGLISH (translation)
Oh, bide with us, Lord Jesus Christ,
For now the evening is at hand,
Thy godly word, that radiant light,
Let in our midst, yea, never fade.

Within this recent time of woe
Grant us, O Lord, steadfastness sure,
That we thy word and sacrament
Keep ever pure until our end.

ENGLISH (alternative translation)
Ah, stay with us, Lord Jesus Christ,
since evening has now come,
your divine word, the clear light,
do not allow to be put out amongst us.
(Vespera iam venit, translated by Philipp Melanchthon 1579)

In these last, troubled times
grant us, Lord, constancy
so that your word and sacrament
we may keep purely until our end.
(Nikolaus Selnecker 1572)

FRENCH (translation)
O demeure parmi nous, Seigneur Jésus-Christ,
Car le soir est maintenant tombé,
Ne laisse pas s'éteindre pour nous
La clarté de la divine parole!

En cet instant d'affliction extrêmes
Accorde-nous, Seigneur, le don de constance
Afin que nous gardions vivants jusqu'à notre dernier souffle
Ta Parole et ton Sacrement.

ITALIAN (translation)
Rimani con noi, Signore Gesù,
la sera si avvicina.
Non lasciare che la luce splendente
della tua divina Parola venga meno.

In questi momenti di sconforto estremo,
dona a noi Signore,
la forza di conservare la tua parola
e i sacramenti fino al termine dei nostri giorni.

PORTUGUESE (translation)

SPANISH (translation)
Ah, quédate con nosotros, Señor Jesucristo,
que la tarde ya ha caído,
que Tu palabra divina, esa radiante luz,
nunca se extinga entre nosotros!

En este tiempo de aflicción
concédenos, Señor, el don de la constancia,
para que Tu palabra y sacramento
mantengamos puros hasta nuestro final.
