this is not too deep purple right now, this is steve morse playing his wonderful amazing stuff while adding some of the best licks and solos of rock 'n roll, what you say is your opinion and your opinion is respected, as i like hendrix and names in your comment.

In my opinion you can't say whose the best guitarist...all the guitarists you've listed are great. The only thing you can say is which guitarist you like most and thats different for anyone. I love Steve Morse style of playing most but everyones taste is different!!

i have been a fan of Steve since the early Dregs days, one funny memory was hearing these guys in front of me gripe before a Purp show that Ritchie wasn't playing with them anymore, some guy named Morse filling in .......HAHAHAHAHA
I put in my two cents worth to them saying " you are gonna LOVE this cat, trust me " I got to watch them first amazed, then just cheer like crazy .... bless ya Steve
