I got fed up with the OE horn being about as loud as a mewling kitten; I wanted a Stebel Nautilus (139dB) but didn't want to modify the bike's wiring or hack off the MOT tester... A bit of soldering and I have a switchable unit under the seat and a totally unmodified bike to boot... :D

  • where did you mount the horn?

  • Under the rear seat cowling (the plastics mounted to the rear sub frame) on the right hand side of the bike.

You need to trim the mounting lug off the horn itself to make it fit, but otherwise you can just zip-tie it securely to the subframe. Once the plastics are back on it won't go anywhere.

The horn's been there for just under a year now, and it's never moved and still works very nicely ;) One of the best things I ever did for my bike.
