That's funny. A lot of places around me are now using two languages: English AND Spanish. Businesses also favor people who are bilingual. Also, a lot of businesses, broadcastings, newspapers, etc. are strictly Spanish. Schools also teach English to children and there are also more classes (than ever?) to learn English for adults.

We support English and would like everyone to learn English so we could better communicate with each other.

Because it's America, Learn English and stop try to change our country and way if life. You are only group to do in the history of America to try and change this county to suit your needs. You have a language and culture that is preciouse. Thrive and prosper. Be who your are. Monlinguals are highly disinterested in other languages other than their own. Bilingualism comes out of a basic human right to exist as a culture. Political power associated with this English policy will support language loss.

disciminate against immigrants? I have never heard that the law discriminates against murderers even though we have laws clearly ruling against them. If you come to a nation that has since the dawn of it's beginning spoke english, then maybe you should learn english to compete there.

Mi mejor amigo es de Panama,pero HE LEARNED TO SPEAK ENGLISH PERFECTLY and now he's doing great and is a wonderful contribution to American society. It's like you would have never known that he wasn't American born. It's definetely ok to welcome other cultures and languages but english happens to be the official language. yeap...and before the Spaniards came..it was the ancient empires of the toltecs..the aztecs and other indigenous tribes....you know why they started speaking Spanish?...they lost...get my drift?...We conquered Mexico City and that is why we have Ca, Tex, Col, Az, NM..,,the English speakers won that land in war...we didnt trick them through a treaty..American Blood was lost...so speak english..or go live somewhere you dont have to....Like Spain
