If you consistently use Pro-Activ for your skin that could have something to do with the reaction that occurred. Personally, I can't use the stuff because it has the opposite effect of what it's supposed to with my skin for whatever reason, but I have friends who've done well with it but ran out a couple of times and in a fix bought something else and had MASSIVE break outs.

The refining mask is the same as the CVS Purifying mask.. It dries and is much cheaper. It has the same ingredients. I didn't think the refining mask worked well at all. And beware it does discolor some peoples skin. Mine being one.

The refining mask does dry! I have used it every day to spot treat for like 5 years now. I put on a decent amount, and in the morning it's completely dry and i have to really work at it to get it off. Just wait for a little bit after putting it on so it does dry a bit, and it wont come off during the night (I have black bedding and no marks from the mask). Idk why it doesnt dry for you D:
