Here is a video of the entire Royal Canadian Mounted Police musical ride. Every spring the RCMP musical ride goes on tour throughout Canada. Every couple of years or so, the ride usually comes to perform at one or two state fairs in the United States. This is one of their performances at the Minnesota State Fair in 2007. In order to best view and video an entire large quadrille unit like the RCMP musical ride, an arena with a very high vantage point is needed. Thankfully, the main arena at the Minnesota State Fair had very high stadium style seats. Part 1 of 4.

  • Thank you very much for your nice comment. I'm glad you enjoyed my video. I'll let you in on a little secret: It's a lot easier to film a large quadrille like this well, if you watch another performance beforehand.

  • Yayy go Mounties...great camera work by the way...easily one of the best self shot videos of a large event on Youtube...suxs that there is such a meagre turn out...but at least it was due to the stupid state fair policies rather than people not wanting to to watch

  • Let's say you're a family of five of modest means, and you want to bring your family to spend a day at the fair and see the RCMP Musical ride. You would have to pay more than $100 for admission to the fair, the horse show, and don't forget parking isn't free either. Ten years ago the Musical Ride went as far south as I think they ever have been, namely the Texas State Fair. I was there, the horse shows were free and the stands were completely filled. Go figure. I hope you enjoyed my video.

  • That's a very good observation. However the low turnout is not the fault of the fairgoers, but of the fair staff. You see, the Minnesota State Fair is one of the few state fairs in the entire country that makes fairgoers pay an extra admission fee to attend the horse shows. In this case, the extra admission was $10 a head! This is absolutely absurd.

  • What a terrible turnout for such a world-class show. I don't imagine the Musical Ride will be going back to Minnesota any time soon.
