  • It's amazing that as great an idea that this game is - they STILL managed to cock it up by emulating the original Arcade games' 3D clipping/pop-in.

Still - GET THIS GAME ON XBLA with 16player online support.

SEGA just don't have a clue. PLEASE - SOMEBODY DECENT NEEDS TO BUY THEM OFF OF SAMMY.

  • @RulerRyze Seems like your dream for XBLA/'PSN is coming true: segabits com/?p=16716

  • Oh jeez, just bring Daytona 2 home already.

    ...

Throw in Scud Race while you're at it.

  • I don't usually critic graphics in the games, but SEGA Racing Classics is supposed to be an HD version of Daytona USA. Why the fuck do stuff pop up in the screen? that shouldn't happen :/

  • @SuperSZ Yeah, the pop-up is weird looking, even the Daytona USA 2001 for Dreamcast fixed that, the engine of the DC version is amazing.

  • @RulerRyze They left the clipping in on purpose for authenticities sake. Same with the re-release of Virtua Racing a few years ago.

And XBLA is 8 player support.

  • @TwistLosi

I know that HD refers to the resolution upgrade (and textures), it's just that most remakes are referred to as the 'HD' version these days so I just used that term instead.

  • @banj0smah0mie

HD is not how far the view distance is, it's just the HD resolution options for modern screens (the arcade original only runs at 496 x 384)

  • @Rashman21 It's STILL not Daytona USA 2!

  • Thankfully a PSN/XBLA port is confirmed, and it's keeping the "Daytona USA" name.

  • So why does the HD remake suffer from huge amounts of pop in? This is not 1993, people.

  • @fruitsofherwomb Let's hope so, eh?

  • SEGA Everyday you don't put youe arcade racers on consoles, the worse it makes you look. JUST DO IT ANY WELL ALL CALL YOU THE BEST COMPANY EVER!
