Eight Chinese Sparrows Bird Painting.
I promised myself a long time ago when I started painting; Chinese painting, (May 2008) that I would feel as if I could paint a very simple bird if I could paint freehand a striong of Eight Chinese Sparrows on a bough of sorts.
Well, time has gone on and suddenly it's new years.
So, in a "Now or Never" state, I had to make this painting.
I am happy with the way it has come out as far as my education in this field has gone.
I have many things to learn but technique is something I will chase for years yet. I am very new to paint brushes.
I love it.
There is something incredible about watching the paint touch the paper.
And the wonderful easy essence of Chinese Artists as they make their real Chinese paintings.
Lucky for me I am not contaminated by western paintings because I have never painted before.
But Yang O-si's book on Birds and Flora have so inspired me I aim to learn from her examples.
I am happy with that.
Too many masters and I end up with little.
I hope this video entertains.

  • If all these were painted by you, a Czech person.

    That's incredible.

Even many Chinese painters can not make so well as you

  • I have much to lean and I try very hard. It took me about a year to get the materials and equipment even before I started to paint. But I am about to put up my 100th YouTube painting, and it is of the Ngan Siu-mui birds that inspired me in the very begining. I hope you enjoy them, They were the very beginings even before I found Yang O-shi's paintings of Birds and FLora.

    best wishes.

  • I love the light leaves at the top, it makes the work pop out. I don't mean to sound stupid, but what's the contraption above the second to last sparrow? ^ ^' Happy New Year! Good Job!

  • Hello.

That little cage is a Cricket Cage. Apparently peple keep Crickets in such cages.

I am not sure if it is to enjoy thier singing, or for Good Luck or as a kind of Guard Dog. :o)

My Crickets are always on the outside.

  • Molto bravo però perchè questi uccellini sembrano tutti arrabbiati? :-)

  • @ChineseCalligraphy , but you painted it so fast. It looked like you started this painting on December 2008 at 12:59 a.m. and finished on January 1, 2009 at 1.01 a.m. It only took you two minutes to complete this painting. Now that is what I call speedy.

  • So cute!! So beautiful!! I love it :3

  • very nice painting! this song is intoxicating.. i will use it to paint... ^_^

  • Nice work 5*.

It's very interesting to see the differences between chinese paintings and western paintings. What a big difference in the mood and spirit.

  • We have been very racist and hateful.

We even set up a hate channel against peaceful artists because we are so hell bent on making other peoples lives a misery to compensate for the lackings and failings of our own.

We are sorry if we have offenced with our tiny mindedness.

  • Wow,Wow......Lovely,!!!

    You are ..GREAT!!!
