  • Thank you Maurice for sharing this. I've been fighting my whole life & was just OFFICIALLY diagnosed 4 years ago. I have made progress since then, finding meds that work without to many side affects has been the biggest hurdle.

  • @Liltroll608 That's great, happy to hear your are coping and doing well!

  • what do you do when someone has it and thinks there fine despite tearing the family apart, violent mood swings, manic behavior, manic cleaning, shopping.... bullying. pathological lying... feeling invincible etc??? and you cant even convince the G.P. Because this person can switch it on and off!! I'm trying to leave this person for fear of my health.... its a shocking illness but whats more shocking is the fact this person thinks we have a problem.. any response would be appreciated.. thank you.

  • @fairhillnorrie Sorry, we can't give any medical advice or guidance. Please consult your health care professional.

  • Pople with bi-polar should not be ashamed to take mood stabilizers if they find these help.

I am thankful to God for the medication which helps me to move forward positively with my life, and to start to make changes for the better.

  • you get mad at the illness not the person

  • How do you know if your bipolar or not ? Like how do you know your not just Moody

  • Thank You Maurice. It's people like you that help remove the stigma and shame we face because of our illness and it's agressive phases.

My wife is also hanging in on this tough journey.I am staring Lithium at the age of 52.I used to work on disturbed wards for 26 years and I often felt that I could feel their pain and agony. At times I think they could also feel my pain and suffering.

Anyway,Maurice I'm proud to be in your Bipolar club. LOL
