TRY THIS:
Take a camera, set it on Night vision, then take a strong infrared lamp (invisible light) point it at a wall or in the sky. Infrared light will warm up the surface or particles in the air and attract bugs.
When infrared is strong enough and you change the white balance or exposure on the camera, they will appear as glowing "ufo's".
Other options to fake this are possible too ;)

Amazing video. There's also ultra-violet cameras, too. Who knows what one could capture with those? NASA's cameras are equipped to film in all the spectra of the electromagnetic-spectrum.
