thevintagegoth; I love the video, but one thing; I was brought up in England in an irish family,
and was beaten at school for being pagan and for being Irish outside school. Mostly, the English did not understand me, but when i 'returned' to ireland at 24 i found people could understand me and my weird Celtic ways; There is more to being Irish than being born there, i have met 'Real' Irsih that talk and think like the English..If you go back far enough, we are all Galicians..Blessings..

@thevintagegoth Theres still pagan traditions carried out in Ireland to this day and people think its catholic. e.g today my mother made an alter for Mary/the first of May. Many of the Irish saints were actually old Irish gods. People leave rags and bits of clothing on holy trees. We never fully gave up on pagan traditions.

Thanks, you just helped me out on my test for Irish in the middle ages!

@01jerm10 I was referring to the more modern cults or religions. Same thing.

"As opposed to the tribal behavior in the modern day religions?"
Which ones are you talking about? Wicca, Neo-Druidism, Neo-Paganism or Norse?

@RoadWarriorCainann As opposed to the tribal behavior in the modern day religions?

Ireland also had many wars before Christianity along with class and slavery was a big thing before Christianity and unlike Christianity being a Warrior was one of the main teachings and if we decided to go back to the old ways then well it will lead to Genocide why? because tribalism will resume and those of saxon, norman and lowlander descent will pay for what their ancestors have done. Not to nice an idea to bring back the old ways eh?

"Once established, these early Celts formed their own class of pagans called Druids"
Wrong they were not called Druids that is the name given to them by the Romans and they weren't a class of their own they were assistants to the Ard Rí also we did not have any connection or contact with the Gauls
"1600 years of Christianity is nothing compared to 8400 years of paganism"?
Where did you get that since the records state that The Celts arrived in no earlier than 500 B.C.
The druids weren't their own class they were assistants to the Ard Rí also we did not have any connection to Gaul whatsoever. The Druid "suppression" was because of Roman Imperialism not Christianity. Ireland converted to Christianity peacefully and not by force.
8400 Years? that's odd since there is no record of the Celts arriving earlier than 500BC also apparently the first people came around 16,000 years ago. So 8400 years is a little inaccurate by the way you're American not Irish

@CelticIrishWarrior just because i was born in america, i can't be proud of where my family came from?

@thevintagegoth I didn't say that however saying you're Irish when you're not is really annoying to us Irish
CelticIrishWarrior 1 year ago
@CelticIrishWarrior i have never heard that before in my life. every single irish person i've met has been very welcoming, even to us lowly irish born in america. yes, i'm not a citizen of ireland, but i'm still irish.
