@GamingFG also it's in 3/4 or 6/8, depending on who you ask. the beginning of the song is a straight 4/4. something about 3/4 can be so hauntingly chill. i think it's that subtracted beat that makes it feel more hollow in a sense. just depends on what you're playing i guess

@GamingFG this entire thing is progressive music.the last part of this is just simple blues/rock (i.e. the rover from led zeppelin) if only they went this direction...like pain of salvation, mars volta, etc... :/ so sadface

Highly doubt it. If he did bass for this song, then it would sound much more funky and heavy. That leaves Flea for trumpet, and theres not a trumpet at all in this song.

it's one of the other movements, either 2 or 3. mike einziger and flea actually know each other pretty well, they are actually pretty good friends, but he's not playing bass

Pretty much all of 311 and Incubus and RHCP are close. Lots of touring together back in the 90's
