Philip and Melanie 3/18/2011 (Tough Love: Melanie tells Nathan they have no future together)

Ok this may make me a complete witch, but I LOVED today's episode. Finally, without any doubts Melanie said what we all knew this whole time....it was ALL ABOUT PHILIP.

It was sort of sad that Melanie had to get so blunt with Nathan, but he was not catching the hints...from Maggie in 2009, from Melanie last year, from Stephanie in January...people were trying to tell him he was not the one, but his delusions continued. So today Melanie said it in clear unwavering terms.

Daniel gave some sage advice today as well - good on him.

1- If you don't FEEL it, it won't work. (Which was what was always missing with Mate) and

2 - Nathan needs to move on with his life and stop living in the "might have beens". Daniel may be acting questionably in his own life, but these two morsels of wisdom were sound.

So so glad they brought up the "two" Melanies. The Melanie that Nathan thought she was, the one he loved vs the real Melanie standing before him. The backbone of this Philip/Melanie story has always been acceptance...and people loving the real you, flaws and all. One of the key issues with Stephanie/Philip and Melanie/Nathan was that those pairings were not able to accept Philip and Melanie's true selves. Nice that the show brought it back around full circle, and had Melanie finally admit she can't be the girl that Nathan wants.

Loved that Melanie was not even able to say the word "divorce" today when talking to Daniel. It should be hard and painful, and I am glad that they are showing that with her. (Unlike what they did with Daniel/Chloe)

I feel so complete in this story, as sad as the ending may be...the writers have not let me down. They have stayed true through the end.

It makes it a whole lot easier to follow Melanie on her next journey (with Dario) or to perhaps stop watching the show. I am undecided at this point...but definitely fulfilled.

@imphamiizd I have Melanie's complete story on my youtube channel starting from 2008. If you go and watch it all you will see why she didn't want to be with Nathan - she was always in love with Philip more. Nathan wrongly thought that Mel was with Philip because they were married...but in reality Melanie loved Philip and wanted him. So when she found out Phil cheated she didn't just want to run to Nathan...she was devastated. In the end she chose herself, deciding she can't go backwards to Nate

then why did he kiss nathan while she was married to philip? and also about that letter thing how he he was willing to go to nathan like right before her marriage to phillip? i mean I love melanie, but I alwys thought deep inside she always loved nathan more.

@icedevil0289 Go back and watch she says it. She liked how she looked through Nathan;s eyes, she could be a version of herself that might have been had she been raised by someone good like Daniel. I think she definitely loved them both, but Philip was the one that understood her and accepted her completely and got to her on a whole other level. She kept choosing Nathan over Philip..even with the letter and the kisses...she always chose Philip.

@SandraMinde He finally pulled it together this episode and is going to try to move on. I don't think he is crazy, just upset because he and Melanie never got together fully. I don't think he realizes that the problem was more than bad timing, or life keeping them apart.

I believe if Phillip had stayed Melanie would have went back to him eventually. Since she showed up in Salem Mel been in love with Phil. There were plenty of time she could have been with Nathan but in the end she always went back to her first love. On her wedding day she was confused by what could have been with Nathan. Once she almost died everything became clear. Otherwise she would have choose Nath when he asked about the letter and later when Phil hurt her.

i dont even begin to understand this mess. i wish philip had stayed. i really freaking wish nathan had stayed. why was mel pushing him away? now i have to sit through dario. my god i would take the philip/mel/nate triangle any day.

Amazing to me both MH & SH both got their best scenes upon their leaving the show, months of crappy dialogue & Nathan finally got to show off his acting ability today, I applaud him. With that said now they have Daniel pimping how great a guy Rafe is? How many scenes have they shared? BTW Daniel Rafe covered up a few crimes already on behalf of Sami, is it possible for the writers to realize we still remember these facts why do they insist on acting like they never happened. MUST PIMP RAFE
