All good methods Tom. Good advice for both beginning and experienced actors. Thanks for sharing. Wish I had the equipment to do the reading/recording method. Thanks for sharing Tom. I've seen Tom onstage in person, and he's always professional and impressive.
Good advice. I haven't been in many plays but I have had to memorize long scripts. My technique was phrase-by-phrase. Say a short phrase until I had it memorized, then add the next one few words to it and start from the beginning to gain continuity, then add the next few words, and start over again, etc. I also found that I had inadvertently memorized an entire, long comic routine of someone else's simply by listening to it in my sleep.
Hey Tom, I was just expecting a few ideas in an email...but a whole video log! Thank you for the ideas...a couple of them I already tried, but you gave me a plethora of new ways to get my lines done. My humble thanks! I'll let you know how the skits turn out.
Ive got my monologue tomorrow, lets hope this advice will work !!!!
