This is the very beginning and ends at the hold. I believe the injured fighter was able to walk from the field. Higher resolution version found at: http://www.meowzettes.com/Pennsic_movies.html

  • Im going to Pa :D next time i know imma be in Gettysburg for awhile, ill look into where this place is...always been interested. but i gotta ask, are the swords fake or real metallic weapons? lol i dont wanna go and never come back.

  • @DeathYear2012 Greetings! "fake" is relative. Are they "real metal swords" no, they are made from rattan, duct-tape, foam bits and a hilt of your choice. They must adhere to approved standards for construction, weight, etc. They mimic what was used in period, so they are in a sense fake. No one can hit you unless you are wearing a helm and rig "approved" by a field marshal and YOU have been authorized to fight (fighter card). Watch the war with a consort - we generally don't hit. ;)

  • can anyone tell me please what country this battle takes place in ? because in England we sometimes do battles with about this much men on the field!!!

  • Hello! This happens in the USA, the state of Pennsylvania. :)

  • what is the price for a good set or armor and sword? why cant u guys have dullled metal swords?

  • Hello Calvin950! I asked my "stick jock" your questions: 1)Price on armor is dependent upon what you want, see my response above to Pilotoatomico. A sword is about $50 and that's with a good basket hilt. 2.) SCAdians don't use rebated steel because they can hit harder with rattan. Hope that helps. :)

  • @EliNR300 If you get hit on the body or the helmet you're dead. If you get hit in a limb, you lose the usage of that limb. Shields are useful.

  • how do u know wen u die in SCA

  • @Emanusmell There are banners in there, you can see one enter frame screen left at 0:25, a big red one at 1:25 in the middle of the field, a white and green one enter screen right a second later, there's a red and white one behind the red one, a blue one enters screen left at 1:32, etc. But also, all the fighters on one side have blue tape on their helms, and all the fighters on the other side have red tape on their helms.

  • @catspajamas01 The people you see walking are either a) waiting for the right place and time to charge or b) "dead" and getting off the field. As for the guy on the scooter, well, his legs don't work so good. This is a sport, actual competitive combat, not a re-enactment. It may not be "realistic": enough for you, but it certainly is "real" enough for me!

  • @catspajamas01 Its about people having fun. Nothing more.

  • People are just walking around on the battle field? That's not very realistic. And there's a guy riding around on a fucking scooter?! What the hell was that all about?

  • This reminds me of Age of Empires II :D

  • @Emanusmell Flags worn about the belt and shield patterns help clan and kingdom fighters identify one another.
