What type of madrasa? Madrasas of taliban style are of course illegal in China and I doubt there are such things in within China's border. But legal ones are rife in certain provinces. For example, you can find several madrasas in Linxia county of Gansu province. Though I'm not an expert in the distribution of madrasas in China, I'm still pretty sure that Ningxia and Xinjiang also have madrasas.

Then I can assure you what you were told is wrong. Muslims can be found all over China. The government impose restrcitions on religions but religion per se is not illegal.

@KalgariePhleymz No way if there are muslims in china it will only be along the borders.And whatever u are doing is not legal and also the kid is not reciting any quaran verse .May be something taught in the madrasa.I am sure about what I told last....

What are you talking about? China is always a religious country. Muslims in China are not new converts. They have been muslims almost as early as Islam itself.
