  • Did this come off of CBS on its original broadcast?

  • It may have; I do not know exactly.

  • Thank you for this awesome, awesome upload. Having never seen the CBS version, I found this really fascinating.

  • One of the consolation prizes was tickets to Irwin Allen's all-star disaster flick "The Swarm"...barely lasted 2 weeks in theaters, was it even still playing by the time those losing contestants got their passes? LOL

  • @feudfan55 Yes it had

  • @mrremark2 What's SLDC?

  • @wdm1219 Many would disagree with you! TPIR and LMAD are fantastic! We may get a revival of Daytime gameshows like this in the future!

  • This show was aired on CBS daytime on Monday, July 3rd, 1978.

When this show was aired, it was the start of the second complete week of six of summer school, the non-SLDC & personal version.

Scheduled meal on this date: Burrito (Ground Beef,_Bean and Cheese), Buttered Corn, Tossed Salad & Sweet Potato Bread.

  • Interesting strategy in the bonus round during the CBS daytime trial run in 1978. Searching for one tic-tac-toe to avoid The Dragon does seem insatiable.

  • Good quality daytime major network game shows do not exist like these any more. CBS does have Price is Right still & added Let's Make A Deal, but neither show is as great as they once were. Oddly enough rlotpir1972, I prefer this X & O bonus game over the syndie version. I even once "hosted" a net game based on this CBS end game, and hope to again someday if/when circumstances in my life permit me to do so. Thanks for posting this episode!

  • I was just 5 years old when this version aired, but I actually remember it. I KNEW I didn't imagine the black jump-in categories or the 3-in-a-row bonus game! Speaking of the bonus game, in this version you could actually narrow down the possibilities of where the dragon might or might not be as you filled in Xs and Os.

  • the revealing of the numbers is a lot slower than the syndie version. This was before. Wubba-wubba-ching!

  • It did indeed...was recorded off Los Angeles O&O KNXT (now KCBS).
